Even after Republicans withdrew their dangerous health care bill, President Trump made clear he is rooting for our health care system to fail. Now the Trump Administration is threatening to withhold the federal subsidies that make health insurance affordable for millions of Americans. Breaking this promise would destabilize our insurance markets and send costs skyrocketing. At a Senate hearing earlier this year, I asked about President Trump’s reckless actions to sabotage our health care system. It’s time for the politicians who are creating this crisis to come to their senses and fund these critical health subsidies, before people get hurt.
